Keep buttons when reducing TCP width

AN idea: When the TCP width is reduced, several buttons are removed and the track name is shortened. Instead, when the track height allow it: -- drop the button onto the next line -- keep the track name full width. As in this mock-up: There has been much discussion of the TCP appearance but this one might be simple(s).

I sort of like this, but I am worried about the vertical space that now needs to be sacrificed (and which is very precious on the TCP and most netbook displays). I think this idea should be taken into account and be considered when vertical meters come along.

Agreed. That's why I said "when the track height allows it", that is, if there is at least a "row's worth" of empty space in the TCP taking into account TCP controls, track icons etc. If the track height was then reduced the row of buttons would disappear. Does that make more sense?

This needs to be customizable. Eg, on single row tracks I'd personally want the name and track icons to stay and sacrifice the buttons first (except mute/solo/record). Of course they should reappear when height allows. But I am sure others preferences differ a lot from mine.
