RE: Dual Core Processors Qualified with LE Systems
At this point in time, I have had trouble with my Athlon Dual Core setup out of the box, but earlier I posted a thread on how to work around this issue:
RE: Dual Core Processors Qualified with LE Systems
Hi, We looked at the following dual core machines/motherboards and did not run into the problem you described: Dell Precision 380 (Pentium D, Intel 955X chipset) Dell Dimension 9100 (Pentium D, Intel 945P chipset) Dell Dimension 5100C (Pentium D, Intel 945G chipset) Asus P5WD2 motherboard (Pentium D, Intel 955X chipset) Asus A8N-E motherboard (Athlon 64 X2, nVidia nForce4 chipset) Tyan Thunder K8WE - Model S2895 (AMD Opteron Dual Core, Dual Processors, nVidia nForce4 chipset) Could you let us know what motherboard/chipset you were running? Just want to make sure we pass your findings along... Thanks. Digi ETS

RE: Dual Core Processors Qualified with LE Systems
Hmmm... just out of curiousity does this mean that we can use both processors equally when loading plugins on a supported dual core system in 6.9? or does it still allocate to just one processor and the other one is open?
RE: Dual Core Processors Qualified with LE Systems
I am using a Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-9 motherboard, which has an nVidia nForce 4 Ultra chipset. Also 1 GB of dual-channel 128-bit DDR. I was originally using this motherboard with an Athlon64 3000+ CPU. I had no problems in ProTools whatsoever. Initially, I upgraded to the new Athlon64 4400+ dual core chip by simply replacing the old one without reinstalling windows. After I was having the problems I described earlier with ProTools, I tried reinstalling Windows on a fresh hard drive, but was still having the same problems.
RE: Dual Core Processors Qualified with LE Systems
Running the config below with no problems so far.

RE: Dual Core Processors Qualified with LE Systems
Yeah, but that's a dual processor system, not a dual core.
