RE: Transcoding database

I have asked Pinnacle the same question and am waiting for a response. Based on previous experience of their support I am not going to hold my breath

RE: Transcoding database

I'm not sure what the transcoding database is, but it would be great if it would recognize the particular DVD you have and maximize the image output to fit a DVD-R. This would eliminate the need to use the F5 solution. dvdRENEGADE

RE: Transcoding database

As i remeber the database holds datas InstantCopy gets on the first read to proof the quality (!) ... this step needs several minutes (about 10 i think) and with the infos from the database InstantCopy can pass this step and you spare the time, thats all! It doesn't hold datas how the movie fit on a dvd or the best quality settings for every video set.

RE: Transcoding database

I said this in another post but for those experiencing crashes UNCHECK this option. I've never had a crash and mine has ALWAYS been unchecked. Perhaps if one bit is off ...let's say the dvd has a tiny error and it's ignored then that gets submitted to the transactional database and then someone with an the same exact dvd that is error free it'll barf when the 5 phase analysis isn't correct. The 5 phase only takes I'm guessing 5 min to 20mins max on most computers but if this is the cause of crashes then it's best to NOT enable it.
