does anyone know the best way to shine up the chrome effect plastic trim around the windows of a 1988 740. spent all sunday polishing and waxing and used shoe polish to restore the mirrors and bumpers. Just this trim left.
Can,t help with the plastic/chrome trim but i wax my car with Collinite 476S. After the initial boot polish to the bumpers i wax them with it too , but polish it off before it dries and they keep that "new look" without any water marks for ages
thanks for that tip,I didnt think of sealing the bumpers with wax. good idea. tried t-cut on the silver trim,it works a bit but its still not shining. probably try some sort of metal polish.
i would advise against metal polish, or any abrasives, as the chrome coating is pretty thin, you will expose the white plastic underneath the chrome plate. paul
